Hoogdrukpers – Polymetaal – Drukwerk in de Marge

Dear Mr Burer,

I am writing as Director of the Museum of Writing and Printing in Grębocin, Poland. I read your offer with great interest and would like to confirm our willingness to accept the Polymetaal relief printing press. I understand from the listing that the press is offered free of charge and must be collected; we are able to meet these conditions.

Our museum is a private, non-governmental initiative. For over twenty years we have organised a wide range of workshops for children and young people, with particular emphasis on rural areas. In recent years we have also worked closely with artists and conservators of works of art from Ukraine, sending equipment and organising training for them. All of these activities are provided free of charge. The press, with its 100 × 70 cm printing format, would be a major reinforcement of our educational and training capabilities, and we would put it to immediate use. I have looked carefully at the photographs and I can see that the hydraulic pump appears to be missing. This is not an obstacle for us. We would plan to come first to pack the machine securely for transport, and then to return on a second date with suitable transport to collect it.

Could you please let us know whether there are any building-related or structural obstacles that might complicate the removal of the press, such as stairs, narrow corridors, tight doorways or lack of ground-floor access?
